Bankwest Business Loans: Current Status and Options
Does Bankwest still lend to businesses? Check the status of Bankwest business loans, who services existing facilities and where a new application can go.

Bankwest business loans are no longer available for new applications, as at October 2026. Bankwest directs specialist business banking enquiries to CommBank. For an existing facility, use the servicing contact on its latest correspondence: a Bankwest-branded loan and a transitioned CommBank facility can have different terms.
If a Western Australian client banks with Bankwest and wants business funding, start with the borrowing purpose and available security. Their banking relationship doesn’t make a withdrawn business product available again.
Bankwest’s Business Lending Status
Bankwest has withdrawn its business loan products and points new business banking enquiries to CommBank, as at October 2026. Its older-products library retains the Business Low Rate Loan, Business Fixed Rate Loan, Business FeeSaver Loan and Commercial Advance fact sheets.
Each marks its product as withdrawn on 18 March 2025. The Business Low Rate Loan fact sheet, for example, states that the product is no longer available. Their presence explains an old facility’s features and doesn’t establish a new application route.
Bankwest’s 17 February 2022 announcement describes moving business customers to Commonwealth Bank products and services. Its current contact page directs specialist business banking needs to CommBank. These sources support taking a new enquiry elsewhere, while the borrower’s own transition correspondence identifies what happened to their existing facilities.
A business owner can still have personal banking or a home loan with Bankwest. Keep those enquiries separate from business lending. The Bankwest personal loan guide covers personal and car loan availability.
Existing Bankwest Business Facilities
CommBank services facilities transitioned to its products and terms. For a facility still documented under Bankwest, use the named servicing team and its current correspondence, rather than assuming a transfer. As at October 2026, Bankwest’s retained business loan fact sheets still name its Business Support Team on 13 7000.
For a legacy business loan, ask that team for the current servicing contact, review requirements and variation or payout process. If that route doesn’t resolve the enquiry, Bankwest’s current contact page lists general support on 13 17 19. Give the account number and borrower entity so support can identify the facility.
For an overdraft or equipment facility, start with the latest statement and transition notice. Send review and variation requests to the relationship manager or servicing team named there. A transaction-account change alone doesn’t tell you whether an equipment contract or overdraft has changed terms.
For a transitioned facility, use CommBank business support or the assigned relationship manager. CommBank’s business finance terms page, as at October 2026, distinguishes terms for some transitioned Bankwest customers. Its SuperGear section has a specific amended agreement for customers who transitioned since October 2023.
Apply the agreement attached to the client’s facility. Don’t apply the current BetterBusiness Loan features to an old Bankwest contract merely because both sit within the same banking group.
For a CommBank business refinance discharge, its discharge instructions direct the borrower to their relationship manager or 1300 219 166. Other requests, including a security substitution, guarantor release or repayment, use its commercial discharge process. A submitted form starts the request, so obtain the payout and release instructions before scheduling settlement.
Collect the following records before you discuss moving the debt.
- The facility letter, later variations and any transition notice.
- The current drawn balance and approved limit, including any undrawn amount the business still needs.
- The next review date, maturity date and fixed-rate expiry, where relevant.
- Every property or other asset held as security, including security shared with another facility.
- The guarantees, guarantor names and any limits on their obligations.
- A current payout quote and the conditions for releasing security or guarantees.
The Bankwest Business Fixed Rate Loan fact sheet dated 18 March 2025 allows an early repayment adjustment. Use the facility’s current payout quote to capture the actual cost of leaving it.
Taking a Western Australian Business Elsewhere
Choose a new business lending route by purpose and security, not by the client’s postcode or former Bankwest product name. As at October 2026, CommBank, National Australia Bank (NAB) and Prospa have current business finance routes with different structures.
| Borrowing need | Routes to assess | Deciding distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Buy business premises or fund expansion with property security | CommBank BetterBusiness Loan or NAB Business Options Loan | Both have secured business lending. Compare the property security and repayment structure against the business’s cash flow |
| Fund stock or a short-term working-capital need without a property mortgage | CommBank’s unsecured BetterBusiness Loan, NAB’s unsecured options or Prospa business finance | Match the repayment commitment to trading cash flow. Read guarantees and asset charges separately from any property requirement |
| Buy a business vehicle or identifiable equipment | A dedicated equipment facility, such as NAB’s vehicle and equipment loan | The asset purchased can secure the borrowing. Keep its invoice and expected use separate from general working-capital needs |
CommBank’s BetterBusiness Loan has secured and unsecured options, as at October 2026. Its application page directs existing CommBank customers to NetBank and new customers to book an appointment. A Bankwest customer can use that new-customer route when they don’t already have the relevant CommBank relationship.
For a broker-assisted enquiry, establish the permitted submission or referral route through your aggregator or the business lending team. The public customer application route doesn’t grant a broker authority to operate the client’s online banking.
NAB’s Business Options Loan, as at October 2026, can fund an existing business purchase or expansion. It has secured and unsecured options, with business banker enquiries. NAB’s equipment loan uses the purchased vehicle or equipment as security, subject to its lending criteria.
Prospa’s business loan page, as at October 2026, describes business funding with security conditions that change by facility and amount. A non-bank route can suit a working-capital enquiry, but assess its full repayment schedule and security terms. The unsecured business loan guide explains why the absence of a property mortgage doesn’t remove every borrower obligation.
For example, a fictional Perth workshop wants stock funding and a replacement delivery van. Separate the stock request from the van purchase. Compare working-capital repayments against the stock’s sales cycle, and assess an equipment facility against the van invoice.
This split lets the broker explain which debt funds which purpose. It also prevents an equipment application from quietly absorbing unrelated cash-flow needs.
Reusing the Business Evidence Pack
Reuse the business’s existing records, then update them for the new application and add documents the new lender needs. An old Bankwest approval doesn’t establish the business’s current income or the security available today.
| Evidence | What to carry forward | What to update or add |
|---|---|---|
| Entity and ownership | Borrower names, company records, trust deed or partnership agreement | Current ownership, controllers, identity checks and authority to borrow |
| Trading | Financial statements and earlier application records | Current management accounts, recent business bank statements and an explanation of material trading changes |
| Tax | Lodged returns and business activity statements | Current Australian Taxation Office (ATO) account reports, tax balances and payment-plan commitments |
| Existing debt | Facility letters and security schedules | Latest statements, current limits, payout quotes and guarantee details |
| Property security | Property addresses and ownership records | Current debt secured against each property and the new lender’s valuation requirements |
| Equipment purchase | Asset details or an earlier quote | Final invoice, supplier details and the asset description required by the equipment lender |
| Repayment case | Previous cash-flow calculations | A forecast using the proposed repayments and current trading assumptions |
NAB’s equipment finance page, as at October 2026, says most businesses need two years of financial statements and their latest full tax portal report. It includes business activity statements and can require personal financial information from directors or shareholders. Those are NAB’s stated requirements, so don’t treat them as a universal rule.
CommBank’s BetterBusiness Loan page, as at October 2026, lists financial statements, individual income evidence, bank statements and identification among possible application documents. Even a lender that already knows the customer can ask for information it doesn’t hold.
Prepare the pack to show today’s position. Add a new trust deed amendment, a changed ownership record or a tax payment plan if the old application predates it. Explain the change beside its supporting document so the assessor can follow it.
Use the business loan cash-flow forecast guide to show how the requested borrowing will be repaid. Before lodging, match the borrower entity and loan purpose to the selected product, then identify the team handling each existing facility’s payout or variation.
