ValEx Status: Track and Escalate a Valuation in 2026
Waiting on a ValEx valuation? Find the status enquiry route, check the order reference and send a useful update request to the right support team.

For a missing or stalled ValEx valuation, check the order reference in Cotality’s ValStatus enquiry tool first. Match the result to the lender’s application, then follow up the party responsible for the outstanding step. An inspection, a released report and a lender’s credit decision are separate milestones.
Find the Current ValEx Status Enquiry Route
Start at Cotality’s valuation support page, which links to ValStatus and lists valuation support on 1300 660 051. Its enquiry tool covers valuations ordered within the last 90 calendar days. For older jobs, Cotality directs you to your lender or internal support team.
ValEx is the valuation platform named in Cotality’s support centre. ValStatus is the status enquiry service for valuations ordered through Cotality. The official destination uses an rpdata.com address.
RP Data is Cotality’s property research product. Access to property records or market estimates doesn’t identify the status of a lender’s valuation order. Keep the order reference and the borrower details supplied with that instruction ready before starting a ValEx status enquiry.
The public search form asks for the valuation reference, borrower’s surname or company name and your relationship to the valuation. Broker is one of the relationship options. Complete any further details the form requests and its image verification, then select Search.
Use details from a file you’re authorised to handle. If you need professional ValEx account access, follow the separate Cotality Account login guide. If the status search can’t retrieve an eligible order, call valuation support with the verified reference and explain the search result.
Match the Order Before Requesting an Update
Match the valuation instruction to the application before treating an empty search as a lost order. The application reference helps reconcile your file, but the enquiry form asks for the valuation reference.
- Open the order confirmation or lender’s valuation record. Copy the valuation reference exactly, including any prefix. If you only have a ValEx ID, ask the orderer to confirm it identifies this instruction.
- Compare the lender, application reference and property address with your client file. Check unit numbers and any separate security properties.
- Use the borrower surname or company name recorded on the order. A company borrower can require different search wording from its director’s surname.
- Check when the valuation was actually ordered. A loan application’s submission date doesn’t establish the valuation order date.
- Confirm the ordering platform and instruction type with the orderer. An order placed through another valuation provider needs that provider’s tracking route.
The expected result is one identifiable valuation instruction for the right borrower and property. If the details disagree, have the orderer resolve the mismatch before chasing its progress.
For an absent result, check the reference and borrower name first. Next, check the 90-day window and ordering platform. If those match, ask the lender or your internal ordering team whether it placed the instruction and received a confirmation.
Avoid ordering a second valuation just to obtain a result. First establish whether an existing instruction needs correction, whether the lender has yet to order it or whether support must locate it. This avoids chasing two separate jobs for one application.
Interpret Progress and the Next Responsible Party
Read the latest status with its accompanying notes to identify what must happen next. A recorded appointment confirms an arrangement. Inspection completion still leaves report preparation and release to check.
ValuePRO documents the following ValEx events in its valuer-side integration instructions. Read your order’s actual status and notes alongside these distinctions.
Valuation Progress Checks
| Documented workflow event | What to establish | Next follow-up |
|---|---|---|
| Instructions accepted or declined | Whether the valuation firm accepted the instruction | Platform support or the orderer resolves a decline |
| Valuer allocated | Whether a valuer has been assigned | Ask support what is required before booking |
| Inspection contacting or appointment made | Whether access is arranged | Confirm the contact and recorded appointment |
| Inspection appointment delayed | The recorded reason and outstanding action | Resolve access or the stated instruction issue |
| Inspection completed | Whether report preparation or release remains | Ask for the outstanding report step |
| Action update | The specific activity described in its comments | Follow the note’s action and responsible party |
| Report approved for release | Whether the report reached the intended recipient | Confirm receipt with the lender |
Lender views can use different labels. Ask support to explain an unclear note against the order reference instead of inferring a stage from one word.
If the inspection is delayed, compare the recorded contact details with the person who can provide access. Confirm whether that is the owner, tenant or managing agent. Send corrected details through the order’s support channel and ask for confirmation that the appointment is recorded.
For a fee query, identify the quoted amount, who must authorise it and whether that authorisation is outstanding. Ask the orderer or platform support which party must act. Don’t promise that payment alone will produce a particular completion time.
For a completed-but-unreceived report, ask whether completion means inspection finished, report finished or report released. Obtain the release destination and confirmation that the lender received it. Then ask the lender whether it has linked the report to the correct application.
A lender can have a specific report handoff requirement. For example, Pepper Money’s upfront valuation instructions tell brokers to supply the report with the application or advise credit so it can access it. Follow the ordering lender’s process for your file.
If the report’s value changes the proposed lending, address the bank property valuation outcome separately from tracking its delivery.
Escalate the Delay and Confirm Recovery
Escalate with a matched order and one clear outstanding action. Contact platform support to locate an order or resolve its progress and delivery issues. Ask the lender about its instruction requirements and credit assessment.
Prepare the following information before requesting a ValEx status update:
- Verified valuation reference and lender application reference.
- Property address and borrower surname or company name needed to locate the order.
- Order date, last visible status and the relevant status note.
- Previous contact, what was agreed and what remains outstanding.
- The approval or settlement deadline and the next action you need confirmed.
Use the minimum client information needed to identify the job. Keep unrelated financial records and identity documents out of an ordinary progress enquiry. Use an approved secure channel if the recipient needs supporting documents.
Example Status Enquiry
A useful enquiry names the issue and requested result. For a hypothetical file where access has been corrected, write:
Please check the valuation reference supplied with this enquiry against the lender’s application and property address. The last update records an access delay. The managing agent has confirmed access, and the corrected contact details were sent in our previous enquiry. Please confirm whether an inspection appointment is now recorded, who owns the next action and the expected report release timing. Settlement is due in five business days.
Add the actual references, property and previous contact details through the enquiry’s fields or secure message. Treat the deadline as information for prioritisation, not a guaranteed service time.
Recovery means the missing step has visibly advanced. Confirm the recorded appointment after an access problem, an updated note after an instruction correction or lender receipt after a delivery query. If the agreed follow-up passes without that result, return to the same support case with the earlier response and outstanding action.
Record the confirmed status, contact and next action in your credit file. Tell the client what has happened, who is acting and when you’ll follow up again. Keep any revised timing separate from an approval promise.
A completed valuation doesn’t establish unconditional loan approval. Macquarie’s home loan application process separates valuation from approval and loan documents. Ask the ordering lender what assessment or conditions remain, then review the remaining settlement steps against the funding deadline.
