To get the ME Bank home loan discharge form, use ME’s official download for a sale or loan closure. For refinancing, call ME on 07 3016 5552 to obtain the authority. The signed request starts the release process, which still needs payout and settlement arrangements.
Get the Current ME Bank Discharge Form
Use the authority linked from ME Bank’s discharge page, as at October 2026. ME Bank is a division of Bank of Queensland Limited. ME handles the request, with its solicitor partner handling the settlement handoff.
The current downloadable authority is titled Discharge of mortgage and home loan closure authority. Its version is ME218286-Salpay v1 202607. ME Bank discharge authority form and Members Equity discharge authority name the same request, including searches using Members Equity Bank.
For a refinance, the borrower must call 07 3016 5552, weekdays from 9am to 5pm Australian Eastern Daylight Time. For other discharge requests, a title holder can also request the form on 13 15 63. ME says brokers and third parties cannot call to obtain it.
Before anyone signs, match the authority to the actual loan and the reason for release. Obtain the unique discharge reference from ME if you don’t already have it. Confirm the form version and receiving instructions on that request, especially if someone supplied an older saved copy.
All borrowers and guarantors must sign. Prepare the loan numbers, property addresses and requested settlement date, plus contact details for the people acting on settlement. Have the nominated ME account details ready for any surplus money.
Complete and Submit the Authority
Complete the issued authority and email the signed copy to DigitalServicing@mebank.com.au, ME Bank’s current submission channel as at October 2026. Use the receiving instructions ME supplies with a refinance request if they differ.
- Enter the discharge reference and each borrower’s name and contact details. Match them to the loan records. The current download has room for four borrowers and directs additional borrowers to extra form and declaration pages.
- Record the reason for discharge. Follow ME’s phone route for a refinance. For a sale, enter the contract amount in the relevant field.
- Identify each loan being repaid or reduced. Mark the intended treatment and enter the repayment amount requested by the form. List every security property to be released.
- Enter the requested settlement date and representative’s details. Complete the contact fields so ME’s solicitor can reach the person coordinating settlement. A requested date still needs to be agreed.
- Nominate the ME account for surplus funds. Check the account name and numbers against the account record before signing. This field is for leftover settlement money, not the amount paid to ME.
- Read the declaration and collect all required signatures and dates. Send every completed page and the supporting documents needed for the request. Keep the exact signed version and sent email.
Ask ME to confirm receipt and identify anything missing. The next documented checkpoint is an email confirming that the Discharges Team has instructed its solicitors. A sent email alone doesn’t establish that the authority has been accepted.
Coordinate Payout and Settlement
Arrange settlement with ME’s solicitor partner after the instruction email arrives. As at October 2026, ME Bank says a correctly completed request can take up to 21 business days. This is its published processing allowance, not a guaranteed settlement date.
ME supplies the outgoing loan’s payout amount. The incoming lender provides refinance funds, or the sale proceeds fund repayment through the settlement representative. Keep the requested loan repayment separate from the final payout quote, which includes the amount due for the actual settlement.
Property Exchange Australia (PEXA) lets conveyancers, lawyers and financial institutions settle funds and lodge mortgage discharges electronically. Your representative coordinates that workspace or the other applicable settlement arrangement with ME’s solicitor. You still need the accepted authority before relying on the settlement booking.
ME’s February 2026 lending fee guide lists a $350 security release fee in Australian dollars. It applies to CompleteME, EconoME and StandardME loans for each property release, including a partial release. Government registration charges are additional, and a fixed-rate loan can incur an early repayment charge.
Use the final payout statement to reconcile those charges with the funds available. Send any shortfall to the person coordinating settlement before they confirm readiness. The home loan settlement guide explains the incoming loan’s other handoffs.
Read the offset and transaction clauses before the payout is calculated. The July 2026 authority says a CompleteME offset is delinked at that point when its loan is being paid in full. The loans are placed on hold when the payout figure is calculated, so arrange other funds for payments you need to make during that period.
If settlement falls through, the form says the offset must be relinked.
Track the Discharge and Resolve Delays
Track the request through acceptance, settlement and registration, with a dated record of each confirmation. ME Bank’s discharge page, as at October 2026, says it emails once the discharge is completed. Keep that email with the settlement statement and evidence of the title release.
For an update, contact ME on 13 15 63 with the discharge reference. Once a solicitor is instructed, direct settlement booking questions to the contact in that instruction. Ask which stage is open and what specific action will move it forward.
| What you observe | Check | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| ME cannot locate the request | Compare the receiving address and reference with your sent email | Provide the signed copy and submission proof to the receiving team |
| The authority is returned | Read the stated reason and check the matching field or signature | Correct that item and resend the complete request under the same reference |
| No solicitor instruction arrives | Ask whether ME has accepted the authority or needs another document | Supply the missing item and obtain the next status checkpoint |
| A settlement date changes | Compare the booking and payout quote with the revised date | Have the representative coordinate the new date and required payout with ME’s solicitor |
Before escalating, collect the completed authority, submission proof and loan numbers. Add the property details, proposed settlement date and contact history, including any rejection or missing-document message. State the unresolved stage and the deadline, so the receiving team can act on the actual problem.
After settlement, confirm the funds paid out the intended loan and the agreed property was released. Ask your representative for registration confirmation showing ME’s mortgage removed from the relevant title. Keep the account closure confirmation separately, because payment and title registration are different checkpoints.
For the wider process, use the mortgage discharge guide or browse lender discharge instructions. If you’re arranging a replacement ME loan, its eligibility rules belong in the ME Bank lending policy guide.
