RAMS Mortgage Discharge Authority: Form and Steps
Need a RAMS discharge form? Confirm who services the loan, request the current authority, lodge it with the right channel and track payout to release.

To obtain the RAMS discharge form for your client’s home loan, call 13 RAMS (13 7267) and request the authority for that account. Complete the supplied form, return it through the instructed channel and track both the payout and mortgage release. The loan’s current servicing details determine which instructions you use.
Confirm the Current RAMS Servicing Route
RAMS home loans transferred to Pepper Finance Corporation Limited from 1 August 2026, with Pepper Money handling servicing. As at October 2026, the official RAMS website confirms that 13 RAMS remains available. Pepper Money’s RAMS transfer information also preserves the RAMS contact route.
Read your client’s current statement or transfer notice to identify the loan holder and account number. Then ask 13 RAMS for the current RAMS discharge authority form and the team handling that account. If you need authority to discuss the account, arrange the client’s third-party authority through the official RAMS channel.
Ask specifically for the RAMS home loan discharge form, including a PDF copy if that is the format supplied. Use the form and return instructions provided for the account. A general Pepper Money discharge form or email address must not be treated as applicable to a transferred RAMS loan without account-specific instructions.
Request and Complete the Discharge Authority
Prepare the loan details and the intended property release before requesting the authority. Have the client’s permission to act and the proposed settlement date ready.
- Identify every loan account or split involved. List each property securing those loans and mark which properties the client wants released.
- Request the current RAMS-specific authority through 13 RAMS or the servicing channel confirmed for the account. State whether the transaction is a refinance, sale or full repayment.
- Complete the fields on the supplied authority. Match account numbers and borrower names to the current loan records, and property details to the security being released.
- Obtain every signature the authority requires. Return the complete form, including any pages or supporting documents requested by the servicing team.
Full discharge means paying out the relevant debt and releasing the intended mortgage security. Releasing one property while retaining another security is a partial release. Removing or changing a borrower is a separate variation request, even if it accompanies a refinance.
For a partial release or borrower variation, ask the servicing team to provide that transaction’s requirements before signing a full-discharge authority. In a hypothetical two-property loan, selling one property while keeping the loan and second property requires instructions for the partial release. A form requesting release of both properties would describe a different transaction.
For the roles of the outgoing lender, incoming lender and conveyancer, use the mortgage discharge process guide.
Lodge the Form and Coordinate Payout
Send the completed RAMS mortgage discharge form to the submission channel on the current authority or supplied by the servicing team. Retain the sent copy and delivery evidence, then obtain a receipt reference. Record the requested settlement date beside that reference.
Ask the servicing team for the payout figure calculated for the intended settlement date. As at October 2026, Pepper Money’s RAMS transfer information says existing RAMS fees continue after transfer and the servicer supplies payout and discharge-fee information. Request any applicable discharge cost and fixed-rate break cost with the figure.
Give the incoming lender or conveyancer the confirmed settlement contact and instructions. Verify payment instructions through the official servicing channel before funds are arranged. Keep the dated payout figure separate from an ordinary statement balance, because the settlement amount must account for the applicable interest and costs.
Ask for the expected processing time for this request when you lodge it. Record any outstanding documents and the person responsible for supplying them. A delivery receipt confirms the form reached the channel, while acceptance confirms the team can process it.
Check Acceptance and Security Release
Confirm that the servicing team has accepted the authority and has the correct settlement date before settlement proceeds. Use the reference to follow up if you have delivery evidence but no acknowledgement or processing confirmation.
- If a signature is missing, identify the required signer from the authority and send the completed correction through the instructed channel.
- If account or property details are wrong, correct them with the servicing team before it arranges the release.
- If settlement moves, notify the team and obtain a payout figure valid for the new date. Confirm any revised settlement instructions with the conveyancer.
- If the request is treated as a full discharge but the client wants to keep a property or loan, resolve the release scope with the servicing team.
After settlement, obtain confirmation that the payout was received and applied to the intended accounts. Ask the conveyancer to confirm the intended mortgage release, including the registration status where relevant. A paid loan balance alone does not establish that every requested security has been released.
Keep the authority, receipt reference and completion evidence needed for the broker file under your brokerage’s retention requirements. Limit recorded client details to those needed for the transaction and required records. For a file involving another outgoing lender, use the lender-specific discharge guides.
