Use the lender guides below to research asset finance lender policy for your client’s proposed purchase or refinance. Choose the provider you’re considering, then focus on the borrower and asset details that could change the application.
Choose an Asset Finance Policy Guide
Start with who will borrow and how the asset will be used. Record whether the applicant is an individual, sole trader or company, along with the business’s trading history and available financial evidence. Note any credit-history issue you need the guide to address.
If you’re considering Pepper Money or Liberty, carry those same borrower facts into each guide. Compare the answers to your question before deciding whether to investigate an application.
Describe the asset separately. Include its type, age and condition, whether it’s new or used and whether the seller is a dealer or private seller. For a refinance, include the existing finance and the amount needed to repay it.
For an equipment purchase, start with the guide for the provider on your shortlist. The Commonwealth Bank of Australia equipment and chattel finance guide explains that provider’s products and policy questions. For other shortlisted banks, use the Bank of Queensland and National Australia Bank equipment-finance guides with the same asset details.
Identify the application question before opening a guide. You might need to understand accepted income evidence, an asset-age restriction, a valuation requirement or how the proposed term affects eligibility. These details help you find the relevant policy passage without treating one lender’s rule as a rule for every provider.
If your shortlist includes Westpac or Macquarie, use their guides to explore the application issue you’ve identified. Carry the same question into the RESIMAC or Azora guide when you’re considering those providers. Use the policy answer to prepare that part of the file.
The lender list below takes you to each provider’s detailed guide. Use the guide to understand the policy issue and prepare the facts needed for that application.
Policy research is separate from broker accreditation and a current finance quote. Reading a guide doesn’t establish your authority to submit to that lender or set the client’s rate and fees. Accreditation follows the lender and aggregator process, while live credit assessment considers the client’s complete application.
The lender makes the approval decision.
