Bankwest Broker Portal: Tracking and Account Help

If a Bankwest file is missing or you cannot sign in, use the broker portal login, accreditation, application tracker and BDM support routes.

Published
Updated

The Bankwest Broker Portal is the sign-in for Bankwest-accredited brokers and their support staff. You reach it from the Broker Portal Login button on Bankwest’s broker page, and inside it you track applications, upload documents and run digital ID checks for your clients.

A missing Bankwest file or failed sign-in usually comes down to one of four causes. They’re the password, the account’s activation, your accreditation or the broker code the file was lodged under. Each has a different fix, so identify the fault before you call anyone.

Official Bankwest Broker Portal

Bankwest’s official broker sign-in starts at bankwest.com.au/brokers, and only accredited brokers and the support users they add can sign in. As at October 2026, the Broker Portal Login button opens Bankwest’s Home Lending Portal at sonic.bankwest.com.au. Password resets run through identity.ibs.bankwest.com.au.

You sign in with one of three identities. A broker uses their broker ID or BK code, which is the broker code Bankwest issues when it accredits you. A support user signs in with a BS code, the Support User ID Bankwest emails when a broker adds them.

Confirm the Destination and Your Broker Identity

Open the portal from bankwest.com.au/brokers each time instead of from a bookmark or an emailed link. Bankwest’s login page tells brokers never to log in through a third-party website or a link from an email. The address brokers.bankwest.com.au also redirects to the same public broker page.

Don’t use the Log in button at the top of Bankwest’s main site. It opens personal online banking, not the Broker Portal. Your clients follow their loan in a separate Home Loan Application Tracker on the consumer site, not in the Broker Portal.

Before you sign in, check which identity you need. If you’ve been accredited with Bankwest before, you might hold an old broker code. Bankwest’s troubleshooting guide says the Existing Loans tab shows only loans written under your current broker code.

Bankwest Broker Hub, Broker Site and Broker Portal

Bankwest doesn’t use the name Broker Hub on its broker pages. Brokers who say Broker Hub usually mean one of two places: the public broker site or the authenticated Broker Portal. The table shows which tasks need a login, based on Bankwest’s troubleshooting guide and broker pages as at October 2026.

Bankwest is a division of Commonwealth Bank of Australia, but it runs its own broker accreditation, portal and support teams. CommBank’s broker sign-in is a different service, covered in the CBA broker portal guide. Other lenders’ sign-in pages are listed in the broker portal directory.

Login, Accreditation and Permissions

Fix a Bankwest portal login problem by first working out whether it’s a password, activation, accreditation or permissions fault. The symptom usually tells you which one you have.

Work Through the Checks in Order

Bankwest’s portal troubleshooting guide, as at October 2026, supports this order. Start with the reversible checks and leave cache clearing until the other browser fixes have failed, because it deletes saved passwords and autofill data.

  1. Check the password. Type it by hand instead of using a browser-saved one, because an out-of-date saved password can block sign-in even when you retype it. If the page shows “Access denied”, too many wrong attempts were made, so wait 30 minutes. Then use “Forgot your password?” with your user ID and mobile number, and Bankwest sends an SMS code to set a new password.
  2. Check the browser. Try a different browser or a mobile device. If that works, delete the saved Bankwest password in your usual browser and disable extensions one at a time, as Bankwest names cryptocurrency and password extensions as known causes. Allow identity.ibs.bankwest.com.au if your antivirus blocks it.
  3. Fix a portal that half-loads. If it sticks at “Logging In”, open it from bankwest.com.au/brokers instead of a saved link, then clear cookies and cache. If the portal loads but its tools don’t, turn on automatic date and time sync on your computer.
  4. Check activation. A new support user must accept Bankwest’s terms and conditions and set a password within five days of the welcome email. A BS code shown without the broker’s code in brackets means setup wasn’t finished. Reopen the welcome email link in a private browser window, and if that fails, the broker deletes and re-adds the user.
  5. Check accreditation. The login works only after Bankwest accredits you, and the login page sends unaccredited brokers to its accreditation page. If you’ve held Bankwest accreditation before, have your old BK code ready, because the form asks for it.
  6. Check permissions. Bankwest disables support users after 90 days of inactivity, and the broker must remove and re-add them. A support user who supports several brokers switches between them with the broker ID drop-down in the navigation bar. Aggregator support users go to their aggregator for help.
  7. Escalate. If none of these fixes work, message Broker Chat or call 1300 130 881. Give your user ID or BK code and the exact error text. Say which browser and device you used and which checks you’ve already done.

Your business development manager (BDM) or business support manager (BSM) changes a support user’s email address. You can edit every other support user detail yourself under Support users in the portal’s Resources menu. Business lending brokers use a different line, 13 7000, from 7am to 5pm Australian Western Standard Time (AWST), Monday to Friday.

How Bankwest Accreditation Works

Bankwest accreditation runs through your aggregator, not straight to the bank. As at October 2026, Bankwest’s retail broker accreditation form tells you to email the completed form and documents to your aggregator. The aggregator approves the application and forwards it to Bankwest for processing.

The form asks for these documents:

  • a resume showing your employment history for the previous 10 years
  • current primary photo identification, and you must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • a current membership certificate from the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) or the Finance Brokers Association of Australia (FBAA)
  • a national police certificate less than six months old
  • an Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) credit representative extract, or a director’s written confirmation that you’re covered under their Australian credit licence (ACL)
  • a Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking with evidence of Diploma enrolment, the Diploma itself or higher education with a loan-writing element

New brokers still choosing a group can compare options in the guide to choosing an aggregator as a new broker.

Home-Loan Application Tracker

Bankwest’s broker application tracker is the Applications area of the Broker Portal, which Bankwest calls app tracker. Sign in with your broker ID, BK code or BS code, select Applications and open an active application. As at October 2026, Bankwest’s app tracker page says each application shows its stage, dates, case owner details and comments.

You also get emails at major milestones. The milestones show when the loan is fully approved, when contracts are signed and when the loan is up and running. Support users see the same list for each broker they support and can download the unconditional approval letter.

To find a file quickly, keep the details that identify it. Note the applicants’ names exactly as lodged, the broker code you submitted under and the submission date. Keep the reference from your ApplyOnline lodgement, since Bankwest receives broker applications through ApplyOnline.

When the Tracker Doesn’t Show the File

Most missing files come down to timing, inactivity or the wrong broker code. Bankwest’s portal troubleshooting guide, as at October 2026, sets out these rules.

  1. Wait 30 minutes after submission. A new application can take that long to appear in Active Applications. Refresh the page with Ctrl and F5.
  2. Check the last milestone date. An application drops off Active Applications after 120 days without a new milestone. Submission, approval in principle, conditional approval, unconditional approval, contracts issued and contracts signed and returned each restart that timer.
  3. Check whether the application has expired. A deal that nobody has modified for 180 days expires and must be resubmitted.
  4. Check the broker code. Confirm the file was lodged under the code you’re signed in with. Support users also check the broker ID drop-down.
  5. Check the Existing Loans tab rules if the loan has settled. A loan disappears from that tab for up to 48 hours after a pricing request is applied. A loan with a collections hold appears without details.

If an application has dropped off after 120 days, email any extra documents to Supportingdocs@bankwest.com.au. Your client can still see the application in their own tracker. The consumer tracker doesn’t cover lines of credit.

Evidence to Gather Before Reporting a Missing File

Collect these details before you contact Broker Chat, so the Mortgage Support Team can find the file on the first message:

  • the applicants’ full names and the broker code or user ID the file sits under
  • the ApplyOnline submission date and reference
  • the last milestone you saw and its date
  • a screenshot of Active Applications showing the signed-in ID
  • whether your client can see the application in their tracker
  • the digital ID status from the Digital ID Dashboard
  • the DocBox View submissions history, which shows what you’ve uploaded

If the file has expired after 180 days, the evidence still matters. It shows the dates you need to resubmit the deal.

Processing and BDM Support

Send each Bankwest problem to the team that owns it, because each team handles a different part of a live application. As at October 2026, Bankwest’s help centre and broker support page split the work this way.

Bankwest’s 9 April 2026 media release says every broker gets a BDM, backed by a desk-based BSM and a Credit Manager. Use your BDM for pipeline problems and a deal you want to workshop, not for routine status checks.

Broker Chat and the Settlement Team

Broker Chat is Bankwest’s secure messaging channel to the Mortgage Support Team, and it’s where settlement questions go. Bankwest’s Broker Support Made Simple guide, as at October 2026, lists what you can ask:

  • progress payment updates and a breakdown of disbursed funds
  • confirmation of a settlement time or a paper settlement’s status
  • requests to escalate or decline an application
  • reissue of a client’s loan documents
  • pricing requests for loans you didn’t originate
  • current application service levels

The portal also shows settlement booking progress, so check it before you message. For the steps between unconditional approval and settlement, see the home loan settlement guide.

Policy Scenarios

Take Bankwest policy questions to the retail credit team on 1300 130 881, or workshop them with your BDM. The credit team handles credit proposals and deal structures, retail credit policy and applications that may have been declined. The Bankwest lender policy guide covers Bankwest’s acceptance criteria before you call.

If the scenario might suit another lender better, Bulma’s Scenario Planner checks it against 52+ lenders’ policies. It lists each lender’s conditions and the documents to gather, with the policy wording quoted behind each answer.

Bankwest SLA and Approval Times

As at October 2026, Bankwest’s public broker pages publish no numeric service level agreement (SLA) or guaranteed approval time. The current source is Broker Chat, which answers questions on current application service levels. Ask it for the figure that applies to your file’s stage.

Bankwest states aims, not commitments. Its help centre video describes uploading the tailored document checklist upfront with the goal of same-day approval.

In Bankwest’s 9 April 2026 media release, General Manager Ian Rakhit says 24-hour approvals matter more than ever. He adds that the bank is making progress on faster decisions for more applications.

Treat a turnaround figure as an estimate unless Bankwest gives it to you as a written, dated service level. An estimate is the time quoted today for one stage, and it can change. When Broker Chat quotes a time, record the date, the stage it covers and who gave it.

Stages need separate figures. Submission to first assessment, conditions to unconditional approval and contracts to settlement are different measures. A figure for one doesn’t tell you about the others.

To give your client’s file the best chance of a quick decision, follow Bankwest’s own guidance. Upload every document in a single DocBox submission, and include the Privacy Collection Notice and correct identification.

Start the digital ID check before you submit. Bankwest can’t complete assessment until every applicant has completed an ID check, and a digital ID check stays valid for 90 days.

If a file has passed the time Broker Chat quoted for its stage, ask Broker Chat to escalate it and give the date and figure you recorded. If it’s still stuck after that, take it to your BDM with the same record.

Check the policy behind your next scenario

Ask Bulma a lender policy question and inspect the source behind the answer.
